  The Patriot Flag was flown in Escondido California for 8 months before it was donated to the World Memorial by a group of businessmen on August 15th, 2010. its cross country tour began in San Diego on September 10th, 2010 and ended back in San Diego on September 2nd, 2011. The flag had traveled over 130,000 miles and through all 50 states before Campo Reservation Fire Department had the opportunity to fly it off their truck on September 30th, 2011 at the Miramar Air Show in San Diego. With the help of the American Legion, Campo Reservation Fire Department personnel and many volunteers, the 75 pound, 30x50 foot flag was raised and flown to honor all of the fallen heroes of September 11th, 2001. The Patriot Flag was retired on October 2nd, 2011 in Escondido California. On December 11th, 2011, the American Legion District 22 Recognized Campo Reservation Fire Department with a Plaque for flying the patriot flag on September 30th, 2011.
